What I have done so far?
Led design teams in scale-ups
Designed multiple 0 -> 1 products
Created proof of concepts to help startups raise money
Build several design systems from scratch
Built my own websites
What am I doing now?
I've gone the independent route, working as a fractional product designer for mostly early-stage teams.
My experience has taught me not every business needs a designer right away, but waiting too long is also risky (and common). The answer is to work with an experienced designer for a set time with clear deliverables.
The business progresses with a product experience meeting their ambition, and I get to build amazing products with wonderful people.
How do I like to work?
I like to balance being practical and being curious. Exploring ideas both large and small, considering the tradeoffs, and reaching for a realistic ambition to do great things together.
I love working with teams that actively collaborate and iterate with an understanding that the best ideas come in time, not right away.
I believe curious exploration will always lead you to the right solution.
A little about me
I'm self-taught designer who's let the twists and turns of startups and scale-ups shape my approach and process to the people I work with along with the work itself. I'm a big fan of the best way to learning is simply doing. Want to become a designer? Design, design, design.
Personally, I'm a Liverpool fan, amateur tennis player and I take my cat for walks outside. I also try to watch 100 movies a year which I track here.
